Marion Police arrested two local residents on multiple charges and priors after a traffic violation Sunday evening.
Officers stopped a vehicle after they observed the driver failed to use a turn signal at 8th and McClure. Officers then discovered passenger 40-year-old Heath McMullen was wanted on two counts of failure to appear and placed him into custody without incident. Then officers noticed another passenger, 42-year-old Lanelle Ralston, acting suspicious. When questioned she admitted to having nine pain pills in her clothing, but she reportedly tried to swallow all of the pills while attempting to hide from officers. Police and Ralston then got into a brief scuffle and she was also placed under arrest.
Both were taken to the Grant County Jail. The driver was cited for the traffic violation.
