Commissioners Move To Raise Insurance Rates

The Grant County Commissioners Monday took the first step in raising employees’ health insurance rates in the coming year.

According to the “Chronicle-Tribune,” the commissioners voted to raise health insurance premiums by 25-percent in an effort to keep the county’s insurance fund from going into the red, and to keep from having to lay off employees next year.

Claims in the county’s health insurance plan for this year are expected to top out at more than six-million dollars by year’s end.
