The City of Peru will spend 200-thousand dollar to buy and stabilize a dilapidated downtown building that was seized after the owner was arrested and charged with operating an illegal pill mill there.
The Peru City Council voted to approve the economic-development money required to buy the three-story building, which sits just across from the Miami County courthouse at the city’s main downtown intersection.
But instead of tearing it down, the building will be re-vitalized and hopefully sold to a new owner.
