Marion Firefighters To Be Honored For Saving Life

Four Marion firefighters will receive medals from the State Fire Marshal next week for saving the life of a shooting victim in September.

Fire Chief Geoff Williams says Jordan Lamb, Chad Jenkins, Steve Johnson and Theris Jones were members of a crew that responded to a shooting incident in south Marion where a man was seriously hurt and could have died if not for their quick work.

The four firefighters will each receive the Medal of Valor from the State Fire Marshal at the start of next Tuesday’s Marion City Council meeting.

Chief Williams says the quick work by the men shows the value of their ongoing training and how important it is to be prepared for any such kind of situation while on duty.
