A Marion Car Dealer and a fast-food restaurant are in the process of swapping properties that will benefit both and will connect a side street with the Marion Bypass.
Matthews Buick/G-M-C wants to trade properties with the neighboring Arby’s restaurant so they can expand their lot. Arby’s would have to build a new facility at the site of the old General Tire building, but owners say that would be beneficial to them.
The switch would also extend Raintree Drive to the Bypass, improving traffic flow.
The measure was presented to the Marion City Council last night, but will have to go back before them for final approval at a later date.
