A sexual harassment suit against a Huntington County judge will be heard in federal court.
The case against Judge Thomas Hakes that was filed against him by the Huntington County chief probation officer will play out in the U-S District Court of Northern Indiana. The case was filed last week.
Judge Hakes is accused of sending the woman unwanted texts and emails, waiting for her in the parking lot after work, and retaliating when she refused his advances.
Hakes plans to step down from the bench at the end of the month. Governor Eric Holcomb will appoint his replacement.
