Following the lead of those in Miami County, the Howard County Council is urging Indiana Department of Transportation leaders to not include J-Turns on U-S 31. They’re also urging completion of the revamped highway between Indianapolis and South Bend.
Miami County officials recently led an effort that resulted in INDOT officials removing plans for J-Turns at two Miami County locations on U-S 31. They argued the J-Turns were un-safe and overly expensive as compared to stoplights.
