Marion Fire At Old RCA Plant Ruled Arson

The fire at the old Marion R-C-A plant last weekend was intentionally set.

Marion Fire Investigator Brandon Eckstein has ruled the fire was set in at least two locations at the main building last Saturday evening, as well as inside a barn nearby.

The fire caused an estimated quarter-million dollars in damage to the facility, which is now occupied by Computer Age Technology.  Several firefighters received minor injuries while battling the fire.

Eckstein says he and officials from the State Fire Marshal’s Office concluded the fire was intentionally set and was likely done so by more than one person.  Their investigation continues.
