Holdman Named Chairman of Tax & Fiscal Policy Committee

A local State Senator has been named the chairman of one of the most powerful committees in the Indiana Senate.

State Senator Travis Holdman of Markle has been named chairman of the Senate Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee, replacing Brandt Hershman who recently announced his resignation from the Senate to take a new job in Washington D-C.  Holdman will also replace Hershman as a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations.

Holdman previously served as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Financial Institutions, but will relinquish his membership on that committee to take on his new role.

The Indiana General Assembly will convene next Wednesday to start the 2018 session.
