Marion Man Killed in 18-Pennsylvania Wreck

A young Marion man died Tuesday morning when his car was struck by a truck at a busy east side intersection.

Marion Deputy Police Chief Stephan Dorsey says 21-year old Robert Kirby the Second was killed when his car was struck by a truck that ran a red light at the intersection of State Road 18 Eastbound and Pennsylvania St.  Dorsey said the driver of the truck said he was blinded by the bright sunshine at the time.

Kirby died a short time later at Marion General Hospital.

The truck driver 53-year-old Wayne Loyer of St. Mary’s, Ohio was treated for minor injuries and later released.

No charges have been filed yet in connection with the accident, but Police say they are still investigating.
