Armed Robberies Investigated In Marion & Gas City

Marion Police have a suspect in custody from a weekend armed robbery that at a local liquor store.  Meanwhile, police in Gas City are looking for a bandit that held up a gas station there late New Year’s Night.

The Marion robbery occurred Saturday night at the Sav-On liquor store on West Second Street when a man walked into the store, displayed a hand gun and demanded money.  He fled on foot after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.  But police followed foot steps in the snow to a nearby house and found items used in the robbery and arrested a suspect. His name has not yet been released.

Meanwhile, Gas City Police say a man held up the Sunoco station in downtown Gas City Monday night and made off with an undetermined amount of money.  No arrests have yet been made in that case.

No one was injured in either robbery.
