Jonesboro Police and the Grant County Sheriff’s Department continue to search for whoever shot two Jonesboro men in their home over the weekend, killing one of them.
Authorities say 81-year old Gene Thompson died of a gunshot wound and his son-in-law, 51-year old Larry Pavey was wounded and taken to a Fort Wayne hospital following the incident.
Investigators say Thompson and Pavey were shot by two intruders inside their home on 4th Avenue in Jonesboro late Saturday night. Police have not identified the suspects, but say they are searching for the two men. A motive for the crime isn’t yet clear.
