An Anderson man survived with only minor injuries Sunday afternoon after he told police his car was run off the road and into an icy gravel pit.
21-year old Damon Swafford said a truck ran his car off a rural Madison County road, causing his car to drop about 75 feet into a partially frozen gravel pit. The car sank into the water, but Swafford was able to get out.
He was later cited by police for driving an unlicensed vehicle.
Police have not located the truck involved in the incident.
