Saturday was the first of this year’s Third House session featuring area State Representatives and State Senators. Those on hand covered numerous topics under consideration in the Indiana Legislature.
One question asked was about the many legislators that cover Grant County without living here and if they communicate about the wishes of local voters. State Representative Mike Karickhoff of Kokomo says it’s not necessarily a bad thing to have multiple representatives at the Statehouse.
Karickhoff says he and the other six legislators that cover Grant County try their best to consider all parts of their districts, no matter where they live.
Five of the seven legislators that serve Grant County were on hand for this weekend’s Third House Session, which is sponsored by the Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce.
