Indiana Senate Approves Sunday Alcohol Sales

The Indiana Senate has voted to allow Sunday alcohol sales, with a House vote likely to come today.

39 senators voted for the bill allowing alcohol sales from noon to 8 p-m on Sundays. The change would take effect July 1st.  On a voice vote, the House rejected an attempt to extend those hours to match the hours the other six days of the week from 7 a-m until 3 a-m. The Senate had killed a similar attempt last week. The twin rejections mean the texts of the two bills remain identical, but the House or Senate will still have to pass the other chamber’s bill to send it to Governor Holcomb for his signature, making it law.
