Eastbrook school officials were forced to close the Junior and Senior High School buildings today when a gas leak was discovered.
The leak was discovered by janitors at a basketball game Tuesday night and Superintendent Brett Garrett decided to close the buildings out of concerns about safety and heating the buildings.
Garrett said officials from Vectren discovered the leak was actually not inside the main building, but the Ag Building and the Administration Building.
Garrett said so far they are planning to re-open the Junior and Senior High School building for classes on Thursday…but it depends on how soon repairs can be made.
Eastbrook’s two elementary schools were not affected by the gas leak and went to school today.
