Marion Teacher Accused of Berating Student In Front of Class

A teacher at Justice Thurgood Marshall Intermediate School in Marion is accused of verbally berating a student in front of her class and threatening to “punch him in the face.”

The incident was reportedly recorded on a cell phone earlier this week.  The teacher became upset with the student and then verbally berated the student in front of the entire class.  There was no physical contact.

Officials from Marion Community Schools said in a prepared statement that they are aware of the complaint and that administrators are addressing the issue.
