The parent company of Carson’s department stores has provided additional details about its consolidation plans, which include closing five Indiana locations including the one in the Five Points Mall in Marion.
A notice to the state says that more than 300 jobs will be affected by The Bon-Ton Stores Incorporated “store rationalization program.” The announcement follows word that the Milwaukee-based retailer has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Besides the closing of the Marion location, stores in Anderson, Columbus, Elkhart and Indianapolis will also close within the next ten weeks.
