Purdue University officials will soon learn if they can proceed with the acquisition of Kaplan University.
Purdue officials announced nearly a year ago that they would pursue buying the online college. It’s already gotten the “okay” from the U-S Department of Education, but it still needs approval from the Indiana Higher Learning Commission. The Commission voted Thursday, but Purdue will not know the outcome of the vote for another couple of weeks.
If approved, Purdue will make Kaplan the online leg of the university known as Purdue University Global.
