A new organization is working on a vision for downtown Marion and ways to bring about improvements for the quality of life for everyone living here. The group is called Thriving Families, Thriving Grant County.
Thriving Families, Thriving Grant County includes a dozen working groups focused on quality of life issues for Marion. Their existence stems from the Marion 2030 plan that was put together several years to set goals for the city and present ideas on how to accomplish them.
Late last year, the group received a grant to help develop the Fifth Street Commons out of a parking lot that was surrounded by empty buildings.
