No Time Zone Change This Year

Indiana residents won’t have to worry about changing time zones…at least, not this year.

State lawmakers ended any chance of that happening Friday when they refused to take up the issue this year.

State Senator Greg Walker of Columbus wrote the bill this year that would have placed the entire state in the Central Time Zone, and says he’ll re-introduce it if he gets the chance.

Indiana was in the Central Time Zone until 1965, and 12 counties in northwest and southwest Indiana remain on Central Time today.
