About three-dozen persons peacefully protested in front of the Exide Smelter on the south side of Muncie Sunday afternoon, protesting the company’s alleged contamination of the area.
The protesters want testing of the area’s air, water and soil for possible lead contamination. They want it conducted by an independent tester, saying they don’t trust testing by Exide.
