Just when it looked like there would be no North Central Regional Spelling Bee this year for area spellers, the competition will take place after all. Spellers from Howard, Tipton, Miami, Fulton and Cass counties will have a way to compete to advance to the National Spelling Bee now that sponsorships have been found for the event.
Indiana University-Kokomo will be the main sponsor as well as host of the event. Several other businesses and organizations will also act as sponsors.
IU-K will host the North Central Regional Spelling Bee on Thursday, March 22nd starting at 6 p-m.
