Eight months into the state’s fiscal year, officials say Indiana’s budget is almost exactly on track.
For five straight months, the state’s tax collections fell short of what the budget anticipated, leaving the balance sheet nearly 140-million dollars behind schedule. But a strong January erased most of that gap.
State officials say a better-than-expected February closed the gap to a little less than 20-million for the fiscal year that will end June 30th.
