The Tipton County Plan Commission has recommended the re-zoning of a property for a new county jail, now the decision is up to the Tipton City Council to finalize the deal when they vote on the issue next week.
The 14-acre site on Jefferson Street and Highway 28 would house the much-needed and long-awaited new jail for the county. The Tipton City Council is expected to vote on the final re-zoning of the site on March 26th.
