The Marion City Council is moving forward with a plan to change the local ordinance covering the city’s landlords and property maintenance.
A large crowd was on hand Tuesday night for the presentation about the ordinance, which would require landlords to register with the city and to establish direct means of contact with their tenants. The ordinance would also focus on blight and proper maintenance of properties in the city and ways to hold the landlords accountable.
The Marion City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed ordinance on April 3rd.
