Neighbors around the closed Halteman Village Pool in Muncie want the city to take control of the facility and turn it into a park. But city leaders have only a few weeks to make a decision about the proposal.
Halteman Village closed a year ago after it fell into default over unpaid property taxes. If nothing is done about the property before September, it will go to a tax sale.
Neighbors want to see it turned into a park to satisfy a need in the area and to beautify the neighborhood.
