MPD Accepting Donations For Murder Victims Funerals

The Marion Police Department, the Marion Police Chaplaincy Program and the local F-O-P chapter are asking for donations for the two young boys who were murdered in late December along with their father and stepfather.

Brothers Javon Blackwell Junior and Jayzon Blackwell were found shot to death along with Javon Blackwell Senior on December 30th in a home on South Gallatin Street in Marion.  The boys’ mother is trying to raise enough money to pay for her sons’ funerals, which will cost an estimated six-thousand dollars.  The Marion Police Department, its’ Chaplaincy Program and the F-O-P are trying to help out.

Those groups are accepting checks and money orders that will be used for the funeral expenses.  Donations in the form of checks or money orders only can be dropped off at the Marion Police Department in care of Detective Sergeant Mark Stefanatos, Chaplain Mark Bardsley or the Chief’s Office.

Funeral services for the boys are scheduled for Saturday.
