We continue our series on Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana. The recovery process after a natural disaster can be long and difficult. The National Weather Service recommends that after the storm has passed, continue assessing needs. Contact family and your insurance company. Arrange financial assistance with public officials, if necessary. Obtain Red Cross assistance as needed Provide Indiana Department of Homeland Securtiy and/or FEMA assistance as needed. Check for your lost pet, or turn in lost pets, at local shelters or vets.
