Natural Resource Conservation Service welcomes new district conservationist

The Natural Resource Conservation Service has announced that Andrew Faison is the new District Conversationalist for Grant County and Madison County.

His primary responsibility is to work with landowners to develop and implement conservation practices that align with the landowners’ overall conservation goals.

Through cost-share and other programs, the landowner may have the opportunity to utilize some of the financial assistance offered.

Common conservation practices in Grant County include grassed waterways, cover crops, high tunnels, sediment control basins and reduced and tillage management.

District Conservationists work alongside each county Soil and Water Conservation District agencies.

Grant County SWCD is looking forward to partnering with Andrew as future educational workshops and programs will be offered to the landowner to assist in reaching conservation goals.

An informal Meet and Greet will be held at the NRCS office on Nov. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m.

The public is invited to meet Andrew and the SWCD staff to become better acquainted with services offered to the landowners of Grant County.
