Baby surrendered at Safe Haven baby box in Jackson County

A baby has been surrendered in a Safe Haven baby box at a Jackson County fire station.

The baby was removed from the baby box at the Seymour Fire Station in about one minute and immediately transported to a local hospital.

The baby is healthy and being cared for at a local hospital.

This is the fifth baby surrendered using an Indiana Safe Haven Baby Box in the last two years and the third to be surrendered in the last 134 days.
