Oak Hill names Chad Cripe as new superintendent

The Oak Hill United School Corporation welcomed its new superintendent yesterday.

Chad Cripe joins the Oak Hill community from Hamilton South Eastern High School. Cripe has also been principal at Tippecanoe Valley and assistant principal at Manchester.

He’s been in education for 20 years and said he’s excited to join the community and serve the students of Grant and Miami counties.

Cripe will earn an annual salary of $115,000 and his contract is slated to end June 30, 2023.

Current superintendent Joel Martin will serve as a consultant through the end of June before retiring from Oak Hill.

The Oak Hill School Board voted 5-2 for Martin’s retirement.

In an email to Oak Hill staff and faculty, Martin said “It has been my pleasure to work with you all and for Oak Hill the past 18 years.

My prayer is that Oak Hill continues to be a place made up of high-quality people who do their absolute best for the sake of kids. Over the years I have said often that I am blessed to work at Oak Hill … and that feeling has not changed. I encourage you to cherish your opportunity to work for such a fine community.

Thanks and best of luck to you all!”
