People remain skeptical about the proposed Mounds Lake Reservoir Project, and a second study awaits funding to answer pressing questions.
The Herald Bulletin reports project sponsor Rob Sparks says the second study will determine if the project is feasible. It will cost 600-thousand dollars and once funded, will take six months to
complete. The study will cover engineering, environmental and community impact.
The Mounds Lake Reservoir would begin at a dam in the White River in Anderson, and will stretch seven miles ending in Delaware County. The reservoir would capture water in central Indiana, helping to minimize the impact of droughts and floods, while providing drinking water to Metropolitan Indianapolis.
The preliminary cost of the project is 350 to 400 million dollars.
