Governor Mike Pence Monday filed an appeal with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to assist affected residents and businesses in six Indiana counties including Grant and Howard Counties. Other counties listed in the appeal include Boone, Daviess, Fountain and Tippecanoe Counties.
Teams with representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and county emergency management agencies last week completed joint preliminary damage assessments.
Governor Pence has requested Individual Assistance which would make homeowners and renters eligible for grants and low-interest loans. Businesses would also be eligible for low-interest loans.
The Governor’s request for federal assistance following November 17th storms was denied in early December by FEMA.
