Two area students have won money to be used toward their future college plans through a contest sponsored by the Indiana Commission on Higher Education.
The contest asked students in Kindergarten through high school to detail how they would plan for their college futures ahead of time. The students each won 529-dollars to be placed in an Indiana 529 College Savings Account that will someday help pay for their college education.
Third grader Megan Spinazze of Sycamore Elementary in Kokomo and Sophomore Kayleigh Shearer of Southwood High School in Wabash County each won for those in their respective grades.
Statewide, there was one winner in each grade from Kindergarten through high school Seniors.
