by Sammy Edmonds posted Feb 14 2014 3:45PM
The American Heart Association has recognized Ball State University and 46 other Indiana companies and organizations as “Fit-Friendly” for promoting physical activity and health in the workplace.
The Fit-Friendly program promotes positive change in the American workforce by helping companies make their employees’ health and wellness a priority, which can eventually help improve the employees health and their employers bottom line.
A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that some adults may gain two hours of life expectancy for every hour of regular, vigorous exercise they perform.
And according to the Heart Association, companies can save up to $15 for every $1 spent on health and wellness within 18-months of implementing a workplace wellness program.
