A break in the weather last week allowed the city of Marion to begin the huge task of repairing many of the potholes that have cropped up this winter.
Mayor Wayne Seybold says the harsh winter has created hundreds of potholes along city streets, and he says Street Department crews have begun the monumental task of filling in those holes. Seybold says they’re just now finding out how many there really are. He says crews filled in 860 potholes on the first day of work.
The mayor says crews will continue filling in the potholes with cold patch material that will alleviate the problem temporarily until the weather improves. Then, crews will do a more thorough job of repairing the damage to the city streets.
