The Grant County Commissioners have approved a revised agreement that will allow the developers of the Wildcat Wind Farm to proceed with their plans to build giant wind turbines in parts of southwestern Grant County.
The Commissioners approved an amended agreement with E-On Climate and Renewables that will allow the company to begin construction on wind turbines in the Swayzee area in the coming months. But the agreement provides relief to landowners in the area regarding some of the concerns that they expressed about the wind turbines.
The revisions include setback requirements and shadow flickers requirements that were not originally included in the agreement between the county and E-On. Area residents complained about those issues for months.
Construction on some 60 giant wind turbines should begin this year in southwestern Grant County.
