A demolition derby is set for this weekend to benefit the family of a Delaware County driver who suffered a fatal heart attack during one of the events during the summer.
The Todd Delaney Benefit Derby and Fair Re-match will be held at 6pm Saturday at the Gaston Lions Club Park. The 43-year-old Muncie man suffered a heart attack and died August 10th while competing in the club's annual demolition derby.
Organizer J.R. Rouse tells “The Star Press” that the day after Delaney's death, other drivers began talking about how to help his family. They agreed that a demolition derby was the right way to do it.
