Eastbrook Schools took the next step in undergoing a $2-million improvement project by holding a public hearing on Monday.
The project will include drastic improvements to the junior high and elementary schools to include modernized science classrooms at the high school and additional security measures in all buildings. The biggest part of the undertaking will be a new synthetic turf soccer field surrounded by a renovated track.
Superintendent Brett Garrett says the entire project is meant to provide an enhanced learning environment for students and enrich the Eastbrook community.
Public response was overwhelmingly positive.
Garrett says they will begin working on plans for construction, and should begin gathering bids by next month. As of now, the project’s estimated completion date is the end of July.
