An Indiana drug counselor is speaking out about a controversial new drug approved by the FDA. Scott Watson of Heartland Intervention says the new opiate drug called "Zohydro" poses a big threat to patient safety.
Zohydro is ten times stronger than Vicodin and is being released in California this month.
Watson says the nation already faces a huge "tidal wave" with opiate drugs. He says the big concern about Zohydro is that it can be crushed and injected or snorted by abusers. He says it‘s specifically for patients who suffer severe pain far beyond the norm. Watson says the potential for misuse is huge and could have deadly consequences if it gets into the wrong hands.
