FEMA Denies Indiana Assistance from January Storm

by Sammy Edmonds posted Apr 3 2014 11:07AM
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has denied Indiana’s request for federal assistance following the snowstorm in early January.  Governor Mike Pence had requested assistance for 49 counties which, in this area, included Grant, Blackford, Delaware, Howard, Huntington, Madison, Miami, Tipton, Wabash and Wells Counties.

The requested grants would have reimbursed up to 75-percent of governments’ and certain non-profits’ eligible expenses including debris and snow removal, and other emergency-related services.

Indiana plans to appeal the decision.
