A southern Indiana man escaped serious injured early this morning when his pickup ran off a Grant County highway and rolled over several times.
Sheriff’s deputies say 43-year old Scott Raines of Rushville apparently fell asleep as he was eastbound on State Road 26 near Fairmount just after 5 o’clock this morning. His pickup ran off the highway and struck a culvert, causing it to roll over several times before it struck another culvert.
Raines was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut out by Fairmount firefighters. He was then flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment of possible internal injuries. But hospital officials say Raines was released late this morning.
The crash remains under investigation, but deputies say no charges are expected to be filed.
