Garthwaite Road Project Comes to a Halt

by Sammy Edmonds posted Dec 3 2013 2:37PM
Grant County Commissioners have opted to put a flood relief road project to a halt due to unforeseen delays.

The Commissioners Tuesday approved to use the funding they received from the Indiana Department of Transportation toward repairing a stretch of 600 East instead.

Grant County Highway Superintendent David White says while working with designers, they were not meeting deadline to place what they call the Garthwaite Road Project up for bid by August of next year.

The Stonecrest subdivision...which been affected by flooding for years...will not receive any repair work until 2017 at the earliest.
