Gay Marriage Ban Amendment Switches Committees

The constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage has switched committees again. Senate President Pro Tem David Long says he‘ll assign the amendment to the Senate Rules Committee, not Judiciary as he‘d originally planned.
Long says he believes the amendment would have the votes to pass either committee, but he says he‘d prefer that the bill reach the floor unchanged before starting a debate over whether to restore the controversial second sentence banning civil unions.
