Golitko Pleads Guilty But Mentally Ill to Scoutmaster Murder

A Bunker Hill man has pleaded guilty but mentally ill in connection with the stabbing death of a Boy Scout leader in August of 2011.
The “Peru Tribune” reports under terms of a plea agreement, 24-year old Shane Golitko will serve 45-years in prison and receive regular psychiatric treatment. Three court-appointed psychiatrists testified that Golitko suffers from Paranoid Schizophrenia and Dementia.
Golitko admitted stabbing 76-year old Arthur Anderson of Kokomo while Anderson was leading a Boy Scout hike with along the Nickel Plate Trail in Bunker Hill. Investigators say Anderson and Golitko had never met and there was no apparent motive for the crime.
Golitko will be formally sentenced on December 23rd.
