Governor Mike Pence has issued an emergency proclamation to ease restrictions on the transportation of propane in Indiana in the wake of recent frigid weather.
Supplies of propane gas used to heat homes began running short after temperatures dipped below zero this month. Limits on drivers’ hours normally restrict the amount of gas that can be brought into state, but those restrictions were lifted so demand for propane can be met.
Governor Pence says Indiana Department of Transportation trucks will switch to diesel fuel in order to conserve propane.
