The official filing period for the May Primary in Grant County has now passed, though political parties can still slate candidates this summer if no candidates have filed for the that office.

The Republican race for Grant County Sheriff has four candidates:  Sheriff’s officers Kevin Pauley and Reggie Nevels, plus Marion Police officers David Day and Jay Kay.  No Democrats have filed for Sheriff.

Two Republicans and one Democrat are seeking the Coroner’s office.  G-O-P Deputy Coroners Roger Eib and Chris Butche will square off in the primary, while Andrea Debruler is the lone Democrat seeking the office.

Current County Auditor Roger Bainbridge has a challenger as he seeks re-election, as current County Council President Jim McWhirt is seeking the Auditor’s post.

Two Republicans are seeking the Superior Court Three Judge’s seat, as Jared Eib will run in the primary against incumbent judge Warren Haas,

Current County Prosecutor Jim Luttrull Junior will be unopposed in the Republican primary, as will Democrat David Payne.  The two will square off in the November General election.
