The murder trial of a former Marion man is expected to be placed in the hands of the jury today in Grant County Superior Court One after more than two weeks of testimony.
James Griffith is one of two persons charged with robbing and killing 81-year old Duwayne Lindsey in July of 2012. Griffith was a former handyman for Lindsey. He and co-defendant Lacy Bradley are accused of beating and stabbing Lindsey to death in his home and then stealing guns and a coin collection from Lindsey before heading to Kentucky where they were arrested a week later.
Griffith has acted as his own attorney in the case. He’s expected to call one or two more witnesses this morning before closing arguments this afternoon. The jury is expected to get the case later today to begin deliberations.
Griffith could receive life in prison without the possibility of parole if he’s convicted.
Lacy Bradley will be tried separately at a later date.
