The shooting of a Marion hotel clerk will be become a Homicide investigation later today when the victim is taken off life support.
Marion Police say doctors at a Fort Wayne hospital found no brain activity in 31-year old Amy Ginger Monday and declared her officially brain dead late Monday morning. Her family is expected to take her off life support Wednesday once her organs are donated. The family has already made funeral arrangements.
Ginger was from Poneto, Indiana, but had been staying at the Ambrosia Inn in Marion where she worked as the front desk clerk. She was shot once in the head during a robbery Sunday morning and taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Marion Police say once Ginger’s death becomes official, the charges against those responsible for the shooting will be upgraded to Murder. The two suspects in the case remain at large.
